Our employees aren’t just skilled; they’re family.  Each of our in-house tradesmen has been with us over a decade, contributing to a collective pool of more than a century of hands-on construction experience.  We’re proud to foster an environment where our employees feel valued and supported, and in return, they consistently deliver the exceptional quality and meticulous craftsmanship that defines LaPointe Brothers.  Their dedication is the backbone of our success.

This commitment extends directly to our clients. We work hand-in-hand with you, ensuring your goals are not just met, but exceeded.  This philosophy of close collaboration and shared purpose isn’t just something our management champions; it’s a value shared by every employee and trusted subcontractor we work with.

Sean LaPointe
CEO & Co-Founder

Sean LaPointe, co-founder and CEO of LaPointe Brothers, Inc., is a licensed general contractor, and driven by a lifelong passion for building.  As CEO, Sean guides the overall direction of the company, with a particular focus on nurturing client relationships and comprehensive preconstruction planning.  He prides himself on fostering the strong network of employees, subcontractors, and suppliers that defines LaPointe Brothers.

Sean has in-depth experience with every stage of the construction process, including design, permitting, estimating, scheduling, project management, and inspections. This holistic understanding ensures a meticulous and high-quality approach to every build.

Sean’s extensive background includes roles as an operations manager for another general contractor and as a project manager for a prominent Los Angeles-based developer.  Prior to that, he also gained experience in property management and commercial real estate, though his true calling has always been the tangible creation that construction offers.

Originally from Detroit, Sean is an alum of the University of Michigan, husband, and proud father of three.

Eric LaPointe
President & Co-Founder

Eric LaPointe, co-founder and President of LaPointe Brothers, is integral to the company’s operational excellence. Joining Sean in 2016, Eric built his expertise from the ground up, gaining critical hands-on experience in the field working in drywall, plumbing, electrical, and acoustic treatment.

By 2018, Eric earned his general contractor license and transitioned into a project manager role. Here, he skillfully directed project execution, managed our dedicated crews, and meticulously handled timelines, ensuring client satisfaction extended well beyond the completion of each build.

Currently, Eric leads as President, operations manager, and lead estimator for LaPointe Brothers. His practical understanding of construction uniquely enables him to provide accurate estimates, which are crucial for delivering projects to our clients on time, on budget, and within specifications.  Eric also diligently oversees all company financials, from billing and bookkeeping to payroll and financial reporting.

A Detroit native and a graduate of the University of Michigan, Eric enjoys hiking, recording music, and designing electronic circuits.

Gabriel Ramirez
Project Manager

Joining LaPointe Brothers in 2021, Gabriel Ramirez quickly became an invaluable asset, initially serving as Lead Estimator where he honed his expertise in pre-construction.  He has since transitioned to his current role as Project Manager, expertly guiding projects from start to completion, ensuring smooth operations and successful outcomes.  His proven ability to manage complex operations and foster client satisfaction is a significant strength he brings to the team.

Prior to his time with LaPointe Brothers, Gabriel built a distinguished 15-year career at FedEx.  Starting as a part-time associate, he ascended to District Manager, where he successfully led over 35 associates across Downtown LA, Glendale, and the San Gabriel Valley, consistently driving operational excellence and sales growth.

A native of El Paso, Texas, Gabriel has proudly called Los Angeles home for over 25 years.  When he’s not delivering outstanding projects, you can find him passionately supporting the Dodgers, exploring new baseball stadiums, engaging in sports, enjoying movies, or attending music festivals.

Jorge Bautista
Foreman

Jorge Bautista has been part of LaPointe Brothers since 2020 and has quickly become an integral part of the team. As the employee foreman for LaPointe Brothers, he is essential to making sure our crews and all needed materials are on-site and on-time. Jorge began his career in construction in 2006 in New York, working for a paving and masonry contractor. Jorge moved to Los Angeles in 2014, where he significantly broadened his skill set.

He initially worked on an installation crew for a flooring contractor. Subsequently, as a generalist for another general contractor, he became proficient in framing, drywall, and tile work, adding to his established expertise in concrete and masonry.

Joining LaPointe Brothers as an already skilled tradesman, Jorge has worked his way up to his current leadership role thanks to his team-first attitude, competency, and reliability.

2026 and beyond… - Teaching The Next Generation

What perhaps makes us most proud is knowing how many clients we’ve helped build while showing the next generation of the LaPointe family the value of hard work and perseverance. Here is son Felix helping to mark cabinet locations for one of our kitchens and son Joseph clearing out some rocks from one of our recent builds.

2024-2025 – Staying True to Our Residential Roots

The last couple years have found our residential work becoming more high-end as property values continue to climb, while an ever-growing number of clients are looking to ADU’s to increase living and rental space. Thanks to repeat customers and referral work, our crews and subcontractors are consistently busy and our client base continues to expand. Here we are pouring the driveway in for one of our Altadena projects and laying Carrara marble tile in a master bathroom in Cypress Park.

2021-2023 – Growing to Commercial and Educational/Institutional

During this time, we began expanding our offerings to office owners and educational clients, with medical office renovations in Venice, Beverly Hills, and Northridge, and work for schools and churches in La Crescenta and Westwood. Here we are doing some plumbing work above the T-bar acoustic in Beverly Hills and putting the finishing touches on a school office paint and flooring upgrade.

2019-2021 – Navigating the Pandemic

While much of the world slowed to a halt in the first few months of the pandemic, that was not the case for us in the construction industry. In fact, several of our clients contacted us in the few first days of the initial lockdown to make sure we would still be committed to their projects – which we were 100%. Here Sean is backing a skid steer into down a tight driveway for a house addition in Burbank, and our crew is working on a new monument sign on one of our multifamily renovations.

2014-2018 – Building Ground-Up

Here we began our first true ground-up projects, starting with a custom spec house in Tujunga. The myriad requirements the city has in projects of this scope was something we quickly became familiar with; now part of the knowledge we bring to all our projects to this day.

2012-2013 – Moving to Multifamily

During this time, our number of multifamily clients grew, both in the market-rate and the affordable housing sectors, starting with smaller unit renovations at 2 and 4-unit buildings, and moving up to major renovations of entire 30-40 unit buildings. Here we learned the unique challenges that multifamily owners face in building upkeep and tenant relations.

2011 – Scaling Up

In what was our largest project at the time, we were tasked with renovating a historic duplex in Angelino Heights that required extensive work both inside and out.

2010 – Honoring Architectural History on Allen Ave

One of our first major renovation projects required us to stay true to the architectural legacy of old Pasadena. It was here and other similar projects that Sean LaPointe gained a finer appreciation for the enduring quality of classic California craftsmanship.

2006-2009 – A Professional Background in Real Estate

Before starting what would become LaPointe Brothers, Sean LaPointe began his career first working in commercial real estate brokerage specializing in the sale of retail and automotive-related properties, then as a construction manager for a family-owned real estate development company specializing in condominiums and apartment buildings. In these years, Sean became grounded in construction budgeting and project management, and he also made important connections with other general contractors, subcontractors, and other construction and design professionals.

1998-2005 – Schooling and Relocating

During these years, Sean and Eric completed their formal education in Michigan. In 2005, Sean made the move to sunny Southern California, followed by Eric and the rest of the LaPointe family shortly thereafter.

1980s-1990s – Passing the Torch

The traits and skills learned by Ernest LaPointe were passed down to his son Serge LaPointe who studied technical and architectural drafting and also worked in the same profession. These were then passed down to sons Sean and Eric LaPointe, who still use these skills today. Pictured here are Ernest, Serge, and Sean; three generations of the LaPointe family in the house Ernest built himself.

1960s-1970s – Honing the Craft

After the war, Ernest LaPointe immigrated to the United States and began a long career in toolmaking and homebuilding.  It was during this time that Ernest became acquainted with the very precise requirements of engineers in the automotive industry and built his own house, working hands-on in all the trades needed to complete the project.

1940s-1950s – Our Roots

Ernest LaPointe and Paulo Napigkit, our grandfathers, passed on a legacy of sacrifice, hard work, and dedication.  Here they are in earlier years, Ernest as a young man in Quebec, and Paulo as a young man in uniform during the war.
